I tried the installation and it tells me that there's not enough space on my drive.
How can this problem be solved?

I've had two different problems so far:
1) On one computer, attempting to run the install from the merged CD causes the screen to go black and the monitor to enter 'no signal' mode. Any ideas?
2) Got stuck when leaving Leviatha, one particular pirate ship would show up every time I launched, and as soon as it was shot at, the game would crash. Finally had to start up a fresh game and start over. Every time I tried loading the saved game and launching, the same ship would be there and trigger the same error.

I am getting what sounds like the same error box. It started happening when I switched from using my mouse for control to using a joystick. I have tried reinstalling the game, and it still happens. My joystick is an old Thrustmaster Flight Control System MK II FCS, and I am using the game port in a Soundblaster Audigy. I am also running XP pro service pack 3, 32-bit, and I just updated the Audigy drivers to the latest drivers.
The error dialog box says "The instruction at 004173ed referenced memory at 4f13c161. The memory could not be read from. Click on OK to terminate the application." Also, it appears that the Dark.cfg file is never written to. Since the dark.cfg file has config parameters for the joystick, I assume that it should be written to.
Anyone else have luck getting it to work on XP 32 with a Joystick? If so, what joystick are you using.
Thanks.

@bryan
Hi sometimes it does the same to me when i play for a little while the game stops telling me the same error message.
Unfortunately I don't know why it happens.
Try reinstalling the whole game in order to be sure that you did everything well.

@afoxm
Hi and thanks for the tip but i solved the problem.
As i said i use the windows patched version. I edited the dark.cfg file in the privateer game folder renaming the path to my virtual cd reader.
I still have to return to windows to change virtually the cds with daemon tools but it works well.
@phil : try using a windows patched version or follow what is said in that link :
The patch works with Vista (i play on vista with it) but if you encounter some problems changing the cds try doing what i've mentionned above, changing the dark.cfg file and rename the first lines with the letter of your virtual cd drive.
